About us
What is Surgeon Shortlist?
An independent way to find and check specialist plastic surgeons, using official registers and professional bodies rather than adverts or reviews.
Is it free?
Checking a surgeon by name is free, always. Every search shows three confirmed specialists free. The full shortlist for any search needs a pass, from €29 for 7 days, paid once.
Do surgeons or clinics pay you?
No. No sponsored listings, referral fees, commissions or clinic advertising. Nobody can pay to appear, be listed first or change what we show.
Finding a surgeon
Can I search for surgeons now?
Yes. Choose a procedure and where you would have surgery, and you get confirmed specialists who match, strongest matches first. Three names on every search are free; a pass, from €29 for 7 days, shows the full shortlist. Checking a surgeon you already have in mind is always free.
How do you decide who's on a shortlist?
Every surgeon must hold specialist registration in a recognised surgical specialty that covers the procedure: plastic surgery, or facial plastic or oculoplastic surgery for the face and eyes. Your procedure and where you would have surgery then narrow the list. Nobody can pay to appear.
What order is my shortlist in?
Strongest matches for your procedure first, from independent public records. Being qualified gets a surgeon considered, not shortlisted. We don't score surgeons or call anyone “best”, and nobody can pay to move up.
Why isn't a surgeon I know on my shortlist?
They may not match your procedure or countries, or their records may not show what we need to include them. You can still check them by name.
Checking a surgeon
What do the four answers mean?
Specialist confirmed listed as a specialist in a surgical specialty that covers the procedure: plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery (ENT) or oculoplastic surgery. Registered, not a specialist licensed but not in one of those. Not found no match under that name. Inconclusive a key source was unavailable.
Does "not found" mean they're not registered?
No. Registers often use full legal names, and spellings differ. Try their full first name or add a city.
How up to date is a report?
Every report shows the date each source was checked. You can run a fresh check at any time.
Can a report tell me if a surgeon is good?
No. It confirms training and registration. Skill, experience with your procedure and results are questions for your consultation.
Sources
Where does your information come from?
Official medical registers, surgical colleges and boards, specialist societies and, for procedures and prices, surgeons' own websites. Each source is labelled as official, independent or the surgeon's own.
Is this medical advice?
No. We report what public records show. Please confirm anything important with the register and your surgeon.
