Why this exists

Most people choose a surgeon from adverts, search results and social media, none of which tell you who is actually a specialist in the operation they want. Official registers confirm someone is licensed, but not what they are known for or how often they do your procedure.

The people who are genuinely expert at one operation are often the hardest to find, because being excellent in theatre and being easy to find online are different skills. Surgeon Shortlist does the finding and the checking, from official records, and puts the strongest matches for your procedure first. Nobody can pay to be there.

We report what the records show. We never tell you who to choose, and a profile tells you what a surgeon does, not how well. Your consultation decides that.

What we stand by

Credentials firstEvery surgeon we show holds specialist registration or board certification in a surgical specialty that covers the procedure. That's the entry requirement, and nobody can pay to meet it.

Honest about gapsWhen we can't confirm something, we say so. A gap is never a judgement about a surgeon.
Plain EnglishNo jargon without an explanation. If it matters to your decision, it should be easy to read.

How this is paid for

Checking a surgeon by name is free. Full ordered lists cost from €29 for a week, paid once, with nothing that renews and no account to manage. That is the only money the service takes.

No surgeon, clinic or agency pays us, and none ever will. There are no sponsored places, referral fees, commissions or adverts. The people who use it pay for it, which is the only way the list can stay honest.
