Checking a plastic surgeon in Poland
In Poland, a plastic surgeon should hold the specialisation chirurgia plastyczna recorded against the doctor's PWZ licence number. Here's where to check it and what to look for.
We read part of the official register directly. Last checked 18 October 2026What the titles mean in Poland
The Supreme Medical Chamber's Central Register of Doctors records each doctor's licence (PWZ) and specialisations, using data from the regional chambers.
The central register has a captcha, so we read the Ministry of Health's open register of medical practices, which records the PWZ number and specialisations for doctors with a private practice, and check the national society.
What we check for Polish surgeons
Society membership is voluntary. Not being a member doesn't mean a surgeon isn't qualified.
How to check it yourself
- Search the surgeon's surname and first name on the Central Register of Doctors. Central Register of Doctors
- Open the record and note the PWZ number and status.
- Check 'chirurgia plastyczna' is listed under specialisations.
